Week 8 progress
This week we met again before class and looked over the script and story board for our sales man story we are making a short film about. We also spent time looking over two dslr cameras and sending an email to Keir about renting equipment. This was followed by inclass lecture on Genera and Avid editing software. We then met again in Studio B for further discussion about scene locations and plan of attack for this coming fridays day of shooting. We created a rough shooting schedule and also selected actors to contact for supporting roles. We also decided that james would be acting as the main character and started to schedule out the shooting for the following week. We hope to capture as much as possible this friday for the rough cut and have a weather contingency plan to shoot indoors if the weather is not permitting our planed out door scenes. Results will be posted next week.
Video Progress
This post is just a catch up with what we have been doing in the past 2 weeks.
After getting into our group, we met on Friday the 19th in a corner by the window inside Tussocks.
This meeting was primarily about idea gathering and putting out story suggestions. We all arrived with a few story suggestions which we put to each other.
It must have been a profitable meeting because it lasted nearly 3 hours! The main story ideas that came out of this included stories about:
- a boy finding glasses which, when put on, made him more confident (almost as if they had super powers)
- an almost love story about a guy with prescription glasses who gets them broken and can't see the face of the girl that helps him till the end reveal
and some others... post TBC
Week 7 progress
We met as a group before class and discussed more ideas and brainstormed a solution to all deciding upon a idea we all agree with. We then all participated in the in class lecture and following in class discussion in Studio B. We then got advice from Max, Ant, and Louis on our idea and process and were able to get a better idea of a middle ground idea. We left the class with one set idea and started the creation of a Script via James and Jia via story board, with Tim looking up people on start now.

Week 6 - In Class Progress
This week we formed the group with James, Jia, and myself Tim for this second assignment brief for creating a 5-7min film for the TropFest. We started with a brain storming session, exchanging contact information, creation of this shared workbook blogspot site, and a shared google calendar with our class schedules and availability. We spent the remainder of class researching script ideas and are currently looking into the comedy or drama genera. We scheduled our first meeting for two days from now to discuss our findings from our individual research and to select one script idea.
